April 1, 2019: Harry Seigle

A couple months ago, Fossil Free WashU sent letters to the Board of Trustees, including trustee Harry Seigle, about the need for WashU to divest from fossil fuels.

This is the response we got back from him.

Not only is one of our own trustees denying the effects of anthropogenic climate change, but he is also prioritizing the money we make off of dirty fuel sources like coal and oil over the planet’s future. How can we expect the university to act on one of the biggest issues we face today if one of our own trustees denies the implications of the fossil fuel industry’s actions?
